The collection contains documents and technical reports produced by NASA, contractors, and other Government agencies.

The primary focus of the documents collection is the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs. Documents produced at KSC and other NASA centers involved in these programs, as well as contractor documents pertaining to them, form the bulk of the collection. Information on other space programs, such as Apollo and expendable launch vehicle operations, is also available. Other space-related topics include computers, materials science, aerospace medicine, and cryogenics.

Documents are accessed using NASA GALAXIE online catalog, the card catalog, and the NASA Aeronautics and Space Database, a database of scientific and technical information.
